After years of suffering debilitating headaches every time she cleaned her home, Megan Bennett of Mangawhai, New Zealand, set out on a journey to find a truly fragrance and toxin-free cleaning product that actually worked, and didn’t break the bank.
What she discovered along the way was that the majority of cleaning products on the market in New Zealand, were predominantly made up of chemical ingredients, synthetic fragrances, toxic preservatives and fillers. Concerningly, even products that claim to be ‘fragrance-free’ often contain masking agents that are in fact more harmful than the fragrances themselves.
“Through this process we learnt that most cleaning products will clean your home, but few will leave your home healthy and safe.” says Megan.
With the numerous studies out on bacterial resistance and home toxicity, it was clear that soap based cleaning solutions and detergents are the most effective and safest way to clean.
Along with her husband Simon, the next two years were spent intensively researching and trialling formulas in their home kitchen, eventually putting the promising formulations to the test with friends and family.
Once they were confident they had achieved a winning formula, the product was handed over to a laboratory for robust microbial and efficacy testing.
The results did indeed confirm that CLEANZ was a powerful cleaner that out-performed other brands, without using harsh chemicals or cheap and unsustainable surfactants.
The Cleanz system consists of one soap-based concentrate that is truly safe, toxin, allergen and fragrance-free. The formula is boosted with the power of chamomile, chosen for its antibacterial, anti-fungal and antiallergenic properties.
