Cleaning effectively and sustainably - 6 simple tips

Cleaning effectively and sustainably - 6 simple tips

Gosh we Kiwis love our Christmas break, a time with friends and families and time away from work. It provides the perfect excuse to have that extra helping, extra drink, extra chocolate.  An excuse to let things go a bit.
Our routines get interrupted and things quite rightly get a bit slack

But the New Year prompts resolutions and often a reflection on health and wellness.  We mostly think about eating healthier and getting in better shape. Both of these have a positive effect on our mental health. These are really great considerations.

Dovetailing into this is a clean living space. This not only enhances visual charm but also plays a pivotal role in fostering physical and mental well-being.

It is essential to clean our homes with products that don't add toxicity to our space.

The following are 6 short tips for cleaning effectively, safely, and sustainably.
1. Opt for Fragrance-Free Cleaning products
Added scents in conventional cleaners often contain synthetic fragrances that may include harmful ingredients. Cleanz offers non-toxic formulas and by adding our pure essential oils you can have refreshing scents without the risks of endocrine disruptors or allergens found in synthetic fragrances.
2. Avoid toxic chemicals in cleaning products
Many conventional cleaning products are laden with hazardous ingredients like ammonia and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as formaldehyde, perchloroethylene, benzene, naphthalene, chlorine, and nitrogen dioxide. These substances are known toxins and contribute to poor indoor air quality; breathing these in can cause or exacerbate headaches, asthma, dizziness, and acute eye, nose, and throat irritation.  Cleanz Oxy Soak is free from harsh ingredients like chlorine, provides effective cleaning without the associated health hazards.
3. Choose products with non-toxic, biodegradable ingredients
All 6 of Cleanz ingredients are Toxin Free and biodegradable.  With a PH of 7.5 - 8 it is virtually the same acidity as water.
4. Opt for eco-friendly packaging
By supplying reusable spray bottles and Cleanz as a concentrate we are avoiding the single use plastic dilemma.  All of our bottles are P1 plastic (the plastic most suitable for recycling) and its only the concentrate bottle that should enter the recycling process.
5. Beware of hidden microplastics
Dishwasher and Laundry Pods are made of Polyvinyl Acetate - they are plastic.
Sure they dissolve but like salt dissolved in water its still there.
6. Select cleaning formulas with high concentrations of active ingredients
Cleanz All-purpose cleaner contains 42 ml of active ingredients per 500 ml of cleaning solution, thats over double the amount of most other products.  That's why it is so effective.

Reducing your exposure to toxins in the home

We're well aware of the health risks linked to heavy metals, pesticides, and herbicides.
